Welcome to RealLineal. By using our website and screen ruler, you agree to these simple terms. We wrote them in plain English so they are easy to read and understand.
1. What RealLineal Is
RealLineal is a free browser-based tool created to help you measure physical everyday objects (such as stationery, envelopes, small hardware, jewelry, and crafts) or digital elements directly on your display.
2. Free for Personal and Work Use
You are free to use RealLineal for personal, educational, or commercial everyday tasks. You do not need to create an account, register, or pay any fees.
3. Accuracy and Everyday Use
When calibrated using a standard card or by selecting your screen diagonal, RealLineal provides high accuracy (typically down to 0.2 mm).
Practical Notice
Because display glass, protective screen covers, and browser zoom can slightly affect dimensions, RealLineal is meant for everyday reference and casual measurement. It is not an officially certified measurement standard and should not be used for critical medical, structural, or legal engineering purposes where certified physical calipers or micrometers are legally required.
4. Privacy & Data
RealLineal runs 100% locally in your browser. We never track what you measure or upload your measurements to our servers. Calibration preferences are stored only inside your browser's private local storage on your own device.
5. Fair Use & Intellectual Property
All ruler designs, icons, algorithms, and content on RealLineal.com belong to RealLineal. You are welcome to use and link to our ruler. Please do not scrape our assets, re-host the site, or embed the tool in uncredited frames without permission.
6. Provided "As-Is"
We work hard to make RealLineal as fast and accurate as possible. However, the service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. RealLineal cannot be held responsible for any measurement discrepancies or consequential damages arising from the use of the tool.
